Parallels 16 slows down both my Mac and the virtual machine to the point where I need to re-start it again and again! Painfully slow performance on both machines. Their support is non-existent - I have waited 6 days for a reply on Messenger despite telling them it was urgent due to work. They simply ignored the reminders I sent them on Messenger in the past week.
Support via chat now costs $99/year! I have asked for a full refund.
I used the trial version to decide if Parallels was worth the investment. I was pleasantly surprised with the ease of installation and configuration. I installed both Windows 10 and Ubuntu 18.04 on my iMac-Pro, with Catalina. Both worked flawlessly.
The purchase process was painless, and intuitive. Ubuntu, of course, is free and downloadable during the install. Windows is also available to download, but I chose to purchase an OEM version online for $35. Installing that was also simple and worked perfectly. Support was available during and after the process, but was unnecessary for me.
So far, my only issue is the fact that it has to be upgraded Annually at a cost. It’s not hugely expensive and I understand the need to keep current with changes to macOS.
This is a solid product and worth the expense. I highly recommend it.

Easiest way to run windows on a Mac. Fast install and the only way to run windows on M1 Mac
This is by far the best virtualization software out there. You can't beat its speed and deep integration. Windows runs just as good as if it was running on native hardware. Plus quick adoption of new technologies such Metal graphics or M1 chip to run Windows on ARM make it the state of the art VM manager.
Unless you are into playing twitch games on Windows, there is no better way to run that operating system other than on a Mac under Parallels. I use a 2019 MacBook Pro and also a 2018 Mac mini.
Parallels makes the distinction between the two operating systems essentially disappear. It's just like having a single computer that does all jobs rather well. I use the Windows portion mostly for two things. One of them is graphics work, such as drafting, drawing, illustration and web design. The other one is running my business using QuickBooks. The Mac version of certain programs is still somewhat of a stepchild to the Windows version thereof. Parallels allows me to sidestep that issue.
Because Microsoft is much more invasive with updates and possible malware, Parallels is hardly ever connected to the Internet. All network oriented jobs are given to the Mac. All work files are kept on the Mac in specific folders. The Parallels portion only contains the necessary software, but no data. When I want to open a specific file, the computer as a whole is set up to figure out whether it needs to start up Parallels if it is not already running.
I just purchased an M1 MacbookPro. While it was more complicated to set up Parallels and an M1 version of Windows, I eventually was able to set it up and it runs better than it did on my old Intel Mac. Keep up the good work.
The integration with macOS using the 'Coherence' mode is absolutly amazing!
You can even drag/drop files between the Finder and the Explorer of Windows.
Good job !!
Parallels allows Mac users to run windows programs from their Mac. You must have a license for Windows separately from Parallels, but the program works seamlessly to allow you to use Windows programs on the Mac.
It's my first time to have an Apple product. It takes a lot of work to transition from previous to MacOS. I've been researching for a great product to use Windows and Parallels is one of the most convenient I've seen so far for my personal use. I just had purchased one online and I'm excited to use it. Hoping to be able to maximize the functions of it.
I upgraded to the latest Parallels on my Macbook Pro so I can run MS Windows 10 and Mint Linux (derived from Ubuntu) for the few unique programs that don't run under MacOS. The Parallels Toobox is a nice addition to the software functions on the Mac.
I've been using Parallels for almost a decade now and all versions and updates have been fully operative and extra smooth on my Mac. I also love the toolbox that is very handy and full of useful functions.
